Nice and smooth, and the engine and automatic transmission work as they should. We Replaced the original transmission with one with 120,858 miles (Tranny comes with a 3 Year Warranty), then we did a fluid and filter change. Now it drives the way a Ford Ranger 4x4 should - nice and smooth. What else did we do maintenance-wise? NEW Oil & Filter, NEW Transmission Fluid and Filter, NEW Battery, NEW Va State Inspection. Tires are in Excellent Condition - nearly New! Rangers of this generation are great for Yard Work, DIY runs to Home Depot or Lowes, or just those runs to the dump where you want your stuff in a truck bed, not in the back of your car or SUV. And if you're looking to go hunting and fishing, this could be the 4x4 pickup truck for you! Ford Rangers are relatively easy to maintain and repair - most mechanics can handle repairs and the parts are widely available and relatively inexpensive.
